Shooting without color created the ideal mood for photographing the colorful characters around him. Whether using film or shooting digital Michael Koehler portrait photography is well rounded in many types of portraiture. Michael is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with over 30 years’ experience in photography.Michael is an acclaimed photographic printer in New York City. Printing for some of the best known professional labs in the city. Working in the darkroom was an art form in itself. A single print could require the use of three enlargers. Being creative in the darkroom is what Michael enjoyed most. Dedicating eighteen years to this craft Michael worked with some of the most well known and successful photographers and artists such as Craig McDean, Yelena Yemchuck and Steven Klein to name a few. While printing color photography professionally, Michael made the switch to shooting color film for his portraiture.
